Is it the 22nd? The 24th? What century is Tempus from, and did the show ever say how long Utopia had been around by then? huh

Somehow it seems like it was 23rd-25th.

Edit: Nope, Wells says in TF,

You see, the twenty-second century
is a peaceful, harmonious Utopia.
No violence, no crime. Without
preparation, poor Tempus would be
horrified by the savagery of the
1990s...

Course, we all know how "horrified" he was.

Which makes me think. Why didn't Wells just take Tempus back to before he had taken him back in time, and done that memory erase thing. Then Tempus would never become a villain.

I think, therefore, I get bananas.

When in doubt, think about time travel conundrums. You'll confuse yourself so you can forget what you were in doubt about.

What's the difference between ignorance, apathy, and ambivalence?
I don't know and I don't care one way or the other.

Thats a good question, Woody. I always wondered why Wells didnt go back in time to catch Tempus before Clark got stuck in the time window or go to that time and stop him then? Seems much easier to me, but of course than we wouldn't have all that angst from Lois and Clarks, huh?

I think the reason is pretty simple. If Wells had never taken Tempus back in time, Tempus would never have tried to kill baby Clark. And if he hadn't tried that, Clark wouldn't have gone back in time to save himself. And JOnathan and Martha might not have found Clark's spaceship in time - remember, baby Clark landed in the afternoon, but was found in the evening after adult Clark caused the streak of fire leading the Kents to investigate what landed in Shuster's field.

Am I making sense here?

I was actually talking about Meet John Doe and Lois and Clarks. It seemed much easier to me to go back in time and stop him before Clark got trapped.
