Has there ever been a fic where they've discussed this (with a sperm donor, I mean)? I mean, I can think of several reasons why an author wouldn't want them to choose that route. I can even think of a reason or two why Lois and Clark don't want to go that route. But it's a very feasible and reasonable choice, and it just strikes me as odd that I've never noticed them to discuss it in any of the fics where they talk about children. Of course, I haven't read every fic.
