ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE MERRIWEATHER COMMITTEE:
We had expected to release the scores for Episode Rewrites this week. However, our judges have requested, and have received, an extension up to August 15 to finish judging the stories.
The delay is twofold: one, the judges had several questions that needed to be addressed; and two, some of the stories were close to 100 pages. The judges felt that their fairness and integrity would be seriously compromised if they hurried their scores to meet a deadline that, to them, became unrealistic in light of the vast amount of reading they had to do.
Our judges do an excellent job and, while we knew authors were waiting on their scores, we had no problem agreeing to their request. The best interests of the authors is paramount to us. We know many people are waiting on the outcome (as are we!) but we wanted to do what was fair and right to both judges and authors.
