LOL Marilyn! You're right; it's not an Olympic dive. laugh I just saw this and thought I'd answer your questions.

MTC = Mormon Training Center (A campus near BYU in Provo)

CTR = Choose The Right (gets put on rings and such, sort of like WWJD, I'm told)

triple combination = Mormon scriptures (Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price)
I'm impressed, Rivka! goofy

I'm so thrilled you wanted to read it, Marilyn! If any of you get confused, by all means, email me. smile

That sounds interesting. I'm not Mormon myself, but I've always had an interest in learning about other beliefs, even if they were different from my own.

You know, I don't think they ever really discussed whether Kryptonians had any religious beliefs in eiher the comics or the series (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't read that many comics). I got the impression that the New Kryptonians in L&C were very Vulcan-like. It'd be interesting to find out more about their culture, just to get a better perspective on Clark's heritage.

This does stand for "Choose The Right" and is put on rings, etc.
The "etc." being this. <G>

Heh, now I can tease Katie. laugh

Do you know the most surprising thing about divorce? It doesn't actually kill you, like a bullet to the heart or a head-on car wreck. It should. When someone you've promised to cherish till death do you part says, "I never loved you," it should kill you instantly.

I've read it, and I'd like to see a discussion about it but -- forgive me, Marilyn -- considering how this thread has progressed, I thought it might fit better into our Off Topic section, so I've started a new thread there... http://www.lcficmbs.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=10&t=000479

Y'all come on over and jump right in! smile

"You told me you weren't like other men," she said, shaking her head at him when the storm of laughter had passed.
He grinned at her - a goofy, Clark Kent kind of a grin. "I have a gift for understatement."
"You can say that again," she told him.
"I have a...."
"Oh, shut up."
