Well, here they are, folcs...the final list of nominees for the 2004 Lois & Clark Fanfic Kerth Awards! Congratulations to all the nominees!

Erin hopes to get the website updated by tomorrow, but since we have the ballot completed, we thought we'd go ahead and post the finalists a day early. After all, you have a lot of reading to do before voting starts on Saturday, March 6th! smile

Once again, this was an extremely competitive year for L&C fanfic, and we have an amazing list of really terrific stories. (Evidence the number of stories on the ballot for Best Overall -- this has never happened before!) And the outstanding quality of stories that *didn't* make it onto the short list also proves just how talented the writers are in our fandom! Everyone who writes fanfiction about our favorite couple is a winner in our book, since these stories bring us (and everyone else out there in our fandom, we're sure!) hours and hours of reading pleasure. Thank you! smile

And, of course, we need to send out a huge thank you to everyone who sent in their lists of nominations this year. Without your participation, these awards certainly wouldn't be what they are.

Remember, voting starts Monday, March 6th. Check the Kerth website (as well as this forum) for more information as we get closer to the time.

Now, without further adieu, here's this year's list of nominees!

Well, colour me surprised. <G> I wasn't expecting to find Epiphany nominated, being sure that since it was posted soooooooooo long ago that I'd all but forgotten it, surely everyone else would have too by this point. smile1 Well done, everyone and well done too to our hard-working K-Comm for working through the stats.

Congrats to all the nominees! goofy

Also, I'd like to give a huge thank you to the FoLCs who nominated my own Seasons Out of Time and An Unexpected Valentine. I haven't had much time for writing last year, so I didn't expect to see anything of mine short-listed at all. Seeing that two of the few fanfics I released were appreciated enough to justify a nomination makes me thrilled beyond anything. jump You've all made my day!

Congratulations to everyone who's nominated, and good luck to everyone! And a huge thanks to everyone who nominated my stories - I never expected nominations this year with such incredible competition, so I'm overwhelmed. blush

Time to get reading... and re-reading...

lol! I think I was riding your coattails this year, Y, but yeah, that was very surprising to me, too! smile I've never gotten so much feedback that started off along the lines of "were you drunk, or what?" goofy

I was really pleased to see all the new names on the ballot this year, too -- it's been a banner year for fanfic smile

Now all we have to do is wait another month to see who wins. Everybody remember to vote!

Wow. Just wow. Amazing.

Congratulations to all of the nominations. I would hereby like to place myself in the very front of the line to borrow LabRat's pin because there is simply no way I'm going to be able to pick when all of the stories on the ballot just blow me away.

I have to say, CC summed up my thoughts exactly. I'm just so excited to be nominated. I figure that after this year, there's no way to go but down <g>. Cause it can't get any better than this. So thank you so much to those who nominated my stories. You've made my year!

Well, I've got my list ready, my cup of hot chocolate steaming, and my laptop fired up for some good couch reading. Anyone out there have a great scoring system to help me out here?

Thanks!
Lynn

That's an awesome list of nominations. And I can truthfully say that many of my favourite stories are on that list already and it's going to be tough to decide which ones to vote for. (I guess, I'll just have to read my through them again. Poor me goofy

And to have my story nominated...in two categories..is doubly awesome. clap Thank you. I must say that I enjoyed writing that little story.

And as Jerry is singing right now on my computer, goodness gracious great balls of fire! goofy There are so many great authors here, I never assumed in a million years I'd be nominated. I'm very touched that you guys thought enough of my story to nominate it. blush

Hi there,

Bringing up the rear-gaurd in this thread, as ever. wink

I'd just like to say thank you, thank you to all those who nominated both my stories. This has been a hard year for me and finding the time and inclination to write wasn't easy. So these nominations mean a lot to me. smile

Congratulations to all the other nominees and it seems I have a busy time ahead, curtting up names and putting them in a hat. How else do you choose a winner amongst all those great stories? wink

I'd ask LabRat for her pin, but I have a feeling it's already been commandeered. laugh

I'm positively stunned. With all the talented FoLCs writing fanfic, I never expected to even come close to a nomination, let alone getting one for my very first personal fic. Wow! And to get a nomination for BNA, too!

Thank you to everyone who read my stories. I'm still rather stunned, not knowing exactly what to say or how to thank everybody.

I would like to say a big congratulations to all the other nominees. What a wonderful crop of stories we had last year! Here's to hoping for more in 2004!

And another wow. This makes post #500!

Re: Battle of the Network Printers.

Well, can only speak for myself, but I certainly saw it as LNC fic - basically for the reasons Wendy gave - and nominated it as such. I guess others must have shared my opinion for it to have made the final cut. wink

Coming in very late here, it's always a terrific feeling to know that people thought enough of anything I wrote to nominate it. I can see already that the competition is going to be fierce this year. I'm pleased that several of the ones I nominated made it onto the short list, too. It's going to be awfully hard to vote; I can say that for sure, but then, it always is.

Thanks to everyone who nominated my work. It's always a surprise to see my name on the list.

Good grief, this is going to be impossible! Congrats to all the nominees. smile As far as I'm concerned, *this*, being nominated, is the real prize. The voting process itself isn't half as important. But getting on this shortlist -- that's something of which you should all be proud. And I'm proud, too, to be part of such a wonderful fandom. smile

Delurking for a bit...

Just want to congratulate the nominees, especially Nan. Nan, I read the postings on Zoom's board and feel that whatever was said by the person (which I didn't even read since it was erased) wasn't justified. Hope everyone will have fun at the award ceremony.

I'd like to congratulate everyone on their nominations. The nominated stories are very deserving, although surprisingly few of the stories I nominated showed up. I guess that proves that my tastes are different than most FoLCs smile .

Also, thank you to everyone who nominated my stories. I've had stories eligible for every Kerth awards since the beginning, and this is my first nomination. It breaks my streak! I think before this I was the author with the most stories on the archive who hadn't been nominated. Well, when you have 17 eligible stories, odds are at least one of them will be nominated wink . Thank you very much for breaking my streak. It really means a lot to me.

I know I'm way behind the game here, but I wanted to crawl out of lurkerdom long enough to express my most sincere thanks. I'm honored to have been nominated and truly pleased that so many people liked my stories. As some / most of you know, I've been away for the last month and have had only very limited and sporadic internet access. Thus, I am coming to this thread very late indeed. My thanks for the nominations are no less heartfelt for that, though!

To all those people who nominated EMII, where- and whoever you are, thank you so very, very much! Last year was a difficult one for me, but you've made me feel as though something good has actually come of it! laugh
