A new Terran Underground story! Your last story got me hooked on the entire series. Do you have any idea how many chapters there will be or what your posting schedule will be? I will be eagerly waiting for the next chapter.

Since you started the feedback thread, let's use this folder for all feedback. There usually aren't that many readers.
I'll be updating the story as I'm able to. This isn't a tremendously long story, but there should be several parts.

Yay, a new story! Wow, Eric & Ruthy are young... so sweet that he basically proposed when she turned 7 <g> Ah, psychic partership...
So the question is, how do they get in touch with the Terran Underground? Eric was the guy who contacted Alan, so I know Westover and Linley won't be in this... always good to learn more about the other inhabitants of this universe.

Hi Nan,
I'm new to this series. You've got me hooked. Poor boy!
Yes, Sam deserves a swift kick to the head, but you can't really blame him. It's just the arrogance of youth talking. Except that he should know enough to listen when his dad tells him to shut up!
This *is* my happily ever after.

Part 3 There was a soft hum and the door slid open. Two big, muscular men clad in the blue police uniforms entered, followed by the Police Captain.
"There he is, sir," Andrews said. You can't leave it there. This is too cruel. More soon please Janine

Thank you for posting chapter 3. I am really looking forward to each chapter of this story. However, as I reach the end of each one, I have the same reaction, "More, please."
Now that we've established that Eric can't trust random strangers or the police, and he'd be in danger and probably endangering others going back to Ruthy's house, he's going to have to do something VERY drastic to rescue himself, the baby, and Ruthy. You've done a good job of setting the stage for whatever comes next. Please don't make us wait too long to find out what it is.

Finally! Good to see that the Underground is on the spot. I hope they find Molly... not so sure I want them to find Sam... Yay, Ruthy! Saving her partner's life at the tender age of 11... <g> Although, I was re-reading Blind Mission the other day, and wondering what took those two crazy kids so long to actually get married... PJ

I'm glad I checked the computer before going to bed tonight, because you posted another chapter! Thank you!! It looks like Same finally got some sense, and realized what he has done. Now it's time for him to do something to make up for it. And I found the sewer descriptions with the rats especially creepy, because mice are cute and fuzzy but I can't stand rats, at least the wild ones. Molly got the kitten to stay quiet--is it possible she could make the rats stay away? Is that one of her powers? Although of course the Patrol is a bigger problem than the rats at the moment. We know that Eric will survive, but it'll be interesting to see how it happens. Looking forward to the final chapter.

Eww. Sewers are icky. Sam's learned a lot, but not enough. Sniveling coward is right. I liked the line about how violence solves *some* problems, at least C'mon, give us more... it's only one more part... PJ

My life has been amazingly hectic recently, so I haven't really had more than a few minutes to scan the feedback, which I appreciate more than you know. Welcome to HappyGirl, and I hope you enjoy the Terran Underground series.
As soon as I can get Tara to make PDF files for Empath, I'll send it to Amy Nanni, if she's still willing to convert it to text for me, and start posting it. I'm still working on "Smallville" (the story, not the series) and hope to be able to start posting it again pretty soon, as well, when I can squeeze in the time for it. I'm doing a massive de-junking of my house at the moment (do you have any idea how much completely worthless stuff accumulates in 15 years when you tend to look at things and think that some time you're going to fix it and maybe use it again? -- which never happens, by-the-by.) I have a dumpster out front right now and I'm heaving stuff into it and walking away as fast as possible before I can reconsider. It does, however, require considerable resolution.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who was nice enough to leave feedback, and I'll be posting the last part this evening.

Yes. I know *exactly* how that goes. And if Amy Nanni finds herself too busy to type for you, please give me a shout. I'd be happy to help. PJ

Part 6 John shook his head. "Not now. If we're lucky, maybe we'll meet the Underground again someday, but right now we have to lie low. Eric was great, though. He gave them a real run for their money. I'll tell you all about it when you're better." So do they ever get picked up by the Underground? Janine

Eric hadn't found out by the time Linda and I wrote the last story, but you can figure that after "Revolt!" he would have, because Mr. and Mrs. Vogleman could come out of hiding and get in contact with the Terran government. Who knows. Someday I may write a story where they meet again.

What a great story. Good that Sam redeemed himself in the end. I loved the charging elephant bit; LOL. And little Molly and her kitten was quite touching. Very glad to see that Eric and Elizabeth's parents are alive, but wish that they could have a way to let him know. Tania

Nan, I'm ready to work on converting the next story from scan to text when you are. I enjoyed the little additions you made to this one. Look forward to your next story (L&C or TU). Amy N.

Thanks for all the comments. It's nice to know that people enjoy what Linda and I wrote such a long time ago. Welcome Tania, I'm always pleased when I find out that someone new is reading. Check out Mr. D8a's posting of our Timeline for links to all the stories currently available.
Amy, I'll be sending you the first parts of "Empath" as soon as my daughter has time to bring her scanner over and start scanning the story. I warn you, it's considerably longer than "Awakenings".
Thanks, everyone,
Nan

Can't wait to read the rest of this story. I have it downloaded and it is just waiting for the printer.
as to accumulating stuff...This October Mom will have been gone for 2 years. We are still going through her stuff! Dad got us a moving van so that we could take his freezer. Since it was a 15 footer, we decided to put as much stuff as possible in it. We loaded 200+ garments and 15 4ft X 2.5ft X 2.5ft plastic tote boxes...and we could have filled up another two trucks!
Mom liked buying things on sale, with the intention of giving them to people, at some point. My old room and my sister's old room were filled to above 5 feet!
She also liked cutting out things and making photocopies of them. We found one box filled with originals and another box next to it filled with the copies of the first box! She should have had a job with the Government!!!

Just finished...WOW! What an ending. Glad Sam came around and I am glad that Eric's Mom and Dad are all right.
I am assuming that they eventually meet up again?
And longer is always fine with me.
