I love this story! I've already read it a few times before (I kept a copy when I typed it up!  And I agree with Janine, now's a great time to make a suggestion for the next story. I vote for Awakenings, too! Eric Vogelman's a very interesting character and we know so little about him! So, what do we have to do to get that one next? Will begging help?  Tara

I'm going in for some surgical repair next month, myself, and expect to be hors de combat for about 6 weeks following that. Hopefully everything will work out as well. My best wishes to you and your wife.

They got the wildfires out fairly quickly, but we are still on a red flag warning for a while, which means high risk of fire because of the weather conditions. They keep extending the alert. It was supposed to end about last Saturday, then they extended it to Sunday, and they kept extending it. Now I think the end is supposed to be Friday. I hope so, because I really don't want to have to deal with anything like last year's fires.

Well, we had a day of drizzle and damp weather in general. Unfortunately, that is now gone and the dry weather is back. They now are predicting light Santa Ana winds and warm, dry weather, which means the danger of wildfires is back. <sigh>

Hi, Just wanted to let you know that I spent the last week and half reading all of your stories in this series and that you now have a new die-hard fan of the Terran Underground series. As soon as I finished the last one, I automatically went back to the TOC for the next one and literally gasped when I realized I had exhausted your supply. sooo, as long as you are still able to post them, you have another loyal reader eagerly waiting to gulp them up!
