Zach possibly being a telepath occurred to me, too--little guy, never had to be told when Mark wanted privacy. I laughed at the decorations and comments on the wanted posters. So typical of humans.
So where are Mark and Alan headed that Alan is feeling leery about? I've forgotten or missed it in the section somehow.
