Here's a real-life story from my local newspaper. I'm thinking there's got to be a Lois and Clark story in here somewhere, but I don't have time to write it:

At 11:30 one evening, a woman comes home from working late. She walks through her front door and finds the following:

Her laundry has been neatly folded.
Her floors have been swept and vacuumed.
A strange man is in her kitchen cooking chicken and onions on her sotve.

She calls the police and has him arrested. He's currently awaiting a psych eval and charged with illegal entry (a class D felony).

Any takers, be my guest.

I hate to tell you this, but Shayne Terry already did this in "Veritas" .

Quote
The door to the elevator slid open and Lois headed down the
hall.

She was already opening the door when she realized that something
was wrong.

The lights were on, the apartment was spotless, and she could
hear the sounds of her shower running.

Someone was in her apartment.

Given the day she'd just had, Lois wasn't in a mood to run.

***

She glanced in the kitchenette and noticed that the intruder had
mopped, and polished her black refrigerator until it shined.

They'd even washed the huge picture window, making its view of
the city even more amazing than it had been before. Lois had
chosen the apartment in part because of its spectacular views of
the city. By night the lights of the city spread out like a sea
of jewels.

***

Although she was still worried, it was
hard to be afraid of someone who had mopped her floors and
polished all her trophies.

When she returned she said, "Do you always clean up when you
break into people's houses?"

"I grew up in foster care," he said. "And some of them were
pretty strict about cleaning up. Now I tend to clean when I'm
nervous." He stared down at his hands.
Of course, it's alt-Clark in this instance.

And why can't I get the burglars like that? I hate doing housework. laugh

HappyGirl,

I don't know if you've read Veritas yet, but if you enjoyed that small clip, I'd recommend reading the whole story. It's quite long, but it's a great story.

Alt-Clark from Metropolis in 1993 accidentally flies a planeload of people into real world, 2008, Washington D.C.

Perry: (To Lois) Honey, this could be greatest story since Superman came to town. By-the-by, where is that husband of yours?
