Weren't you punishing poor Clark enough in your other stories yet? *g* I like how Alt Clark is trying to comfort Lois, and ends up failing misserably and even making the situation worse. But you gotta feel sorry for the guy!
Also, I'm not sure I fully understand your ending. But the way I read it (or want to read it) is that everyone gets their happy end.
Maybe if I read it in the morning, when I'm focused and mostly sorta awake, I'll be able to see your intended meaning.
