Ooh, excitement! Drama! And my first thought at the end of the chapter was "maybe *now* a judge will do something about Ellen." And Clark didn't have to face the question of whether to use his powers or not, which is good.

Ouch about Lucy seeing the accident, though. Not that she could have had much respect for her mother beforehand, but still...
