With the story you just told me, I’d say we’re even. wink

I’ve never liked the idea of two (or more) people betting on the actions of anyone they know personally. In my mind, it somehow diminishes their views on the third party — reducing an entire person down to a single “Will they do X,” and thereby dehumanizing them. I’m glad to hear that that isn’t the way those two doctors typically operate (no pun intended). And take pleasure in knowing that the real winner was the patient who was able to get the MRI thanks to your efforts.

Incidentally, I actually think both characters in my story are being rather jerky.
