What if Clark glances into the folders on Thompson's desk in Strange Visitor and discovers that Thompson knows CK=SM, or that the Kents' son is Superman, but hasn't tied Clark Kent to the Smallville Kents yet.

What would Clark do? Wait until Thompson reveals him? Disappear? Go to Lois to have her tell his story first? What if while he's deciding someone kills Thompson? Would Clark wonder if Trask also knows and is about to pin the murder on him/Superman?

What would Clark do in that scenario? Would he turn to Lois and tell her the truth, so that she could tell his story instead of Trask? What if he did, only to learn that Trask never knew what Thompson knew? Now, it was too late to take back that revelation. Would Clark try to break into Thompson's office and try to steal that folder before someone else finds out? Perhaps Clark finds it in the warehouse conveniently discarded (and unread by B39).
