Oh, I feel so sorry for Emma! I mean, what pressure for a little six-year old, to know that you have to grow up to be a replacement for the father that you adore. I love how you've come at this story from the angle of a child, how everything seems so big and scary.

Yet already she's proving to us - and hopefully to herself - that she's up to the challenge because she instinctively responds to those in need of help.
