Here's a strange one...

(Don't Fear) The Reaper
by Blue Oyster Cult

Fans of SNL may be familiar with at least the beginning of the song from the sketch in which Chistopher Walken, as a record procuder, says the line "I have a fever, and the only perscription is more cowbell!"

Anyway, like I said, it's kind of a strange song. As far as I can tell, it's about beating death by giving in to love and living in the moment.

I figured with Nightfall, PML, all of Lois's near-death experiences (as so well illustrated by Rach's "Die Another Day"), the song could be made into an... interesting (1st season?) L&C vid.

Don't know if anyone wants to attempt it, but thought I'd at least mention the idea. Lyrics pasted below. I took them from this site , but fixed them up a bit.

So, if you want, see what you can do. smile

Quote
All our times have come
Here but now they're gone
Seasons don't fear the reaper
Nor do the wind, the sun or the rain
(We can be like they are)

Come on baby
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby I'm your man

La la la la la
La la la la la

Valentine is done
Here but now they're gone
Romeo and Juliet
Are together in eternity
(Romeo and Juliet)

40,000 men and women everyday
(Like Romeo and Juliet)
40,000 men and women everyday
(Redefine happiness)
Another 40,000 coming everyday
(We can be like they are)

Come on baby
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby take my hand
(Don't fear the Reaper)
We'll be able to fly
(Don't fear the Reaper)
Baby I'm your man

La la la la la
La la la la la

[MID]

Love of two is one
Here but now they're gone
Came the last night of sadness
And it was clear she couldn't go on
The door was open and the wind appeared
The candles blew and then disappeared
The curtains flew then he appeared
(Saying don't be afraid)

Come on baby
(And she had no fear)
And she ran to him
(Then they started to fly)
They looked backward and said goodbye
(She had become like they are)
She had taken his hand
(She had become like they are)

Come on baby
(don't fear the reaper)

When in doubt, think about penguins. It probably won't help, but at least it'll be fun.
