I have seen pics of the Wedding Album but never made the connection! Oh god... I feel so guilty about trashing the outfit all of a sudden. They just wanted to be faithful to the comics! T_T
Here's my take on this, and it may be sexist, but I'm going to say it anyway.
Who writes/draws comic books? Mostly guys.
Who is involved in picking out wedding dresses and actually cares what the dress looks like? Mostly gals.
If Lois's wedding dress #2 was based on the comic book dress, see above for why the guys who wrote/drew the comic book dress probably had no clue. Hence the abysmal bow on Lois's headpiece. The guys were just wedding-fashion-impaired.
