Anyone out there know how to do this? I've never been able to make it work and had given up, but my main mailbox is getting so crowded these days I really need to filter some blocks of messages out of it to save confusion.

The way I've been trying to do it is using 'Tools/Message filters'. As far as I know I've done everything I should - 'if sender is X, move to Y folder in Local folders'. I've checked and rechecked and can't see anything in the setup of each filter that's wrong.

But every single time the messages land in the Inbox and bypass the filter folder.

Am I using the wrong method? Anyone who has made Thunderbird filter messages like to give me step by step instructions?

Thanks!

Athos: If you'd told us what you were doing, we might have been able to plan this properly.
Aramis: Yes, sorry.
Athos: No, no, by all means, let's keep things suicidal.
