I like Robert Frost's work for its simplicity and directness and his insight on humanity. I like Ogden Nash's work for his quirky sense of humor. Beyond that, I like certain poems for no reason I can put my finger on besides my mood at the moment.
This is one of my other favorites, by Stephen Crane.
A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
A sense of obligation."
