Don't wait for him - see someone else. Even if it's only your best friend or your mother or whoever. As long as you're busy, you're desirable in his eyes. When he finally comes around, you can still decide what to do. But don't take him back without him doing his due share of groveling.
He does need to feel at least some consequences for his awful behavior, don't you think?
