the third season finale was titled as such (Through a glass darkly)

and, as were a lot of the episodes (if not all), I know that this title was based upon some reference from historical literature...

I mean, I can name about 5 books from 5 different authors all with that exact same title, and these all come from different genres... and the one that I remember the most deals with issues that I would not consider to be linked with that of the L&C episode...

I was wondering if any of you guys knew the origins of this phrase, seeing as I have no clue.... origins and/or original meaning is really what I am loking for...
