Just what I thought when I was posting the info for Metropolis... although, if they were looking for the exact opposite in Greek, they should have used Megalopolis!! Although such a city already exists
I think that they wanted not only to show how big Metropolis is, but also how important. It 'controls' in a way the smaller cities like Smallville, like Metropolis's use to 'control' the colonies.
