Some people have been talking about starting a ficathon.

Timeline:
Sign-ups can be handed in until Feb 18 (Friday)
Assignments will be handed out Feb 20 (Sunday)
Deadline: Apr 20 (Sunday, 4 weeks after the assignments are out)

Now, there's the question. If I remember correctly, the deadline for the stories was usually 4 weeks after the assignments were handed out, but if the majority of potential candidates want to have 6 weeks, I'll go for it instead.

So, next. The form you need to sign you up (copy, paste and fill out):

I want to sign up for the 2011 ficathon!

Please note:
- If you're willing to pinch hit, I might contact you if someone else drops out of the ficathon.
- I want to organize this thing via PM. (I'm in a very active yahoogroup, and emails might get lost in my inbox.) So, please PM me with the form to sign up, and I'll reply with a PM to acknowledge this. Later, when I hand out the assignments, please write a short note back to let me know you got your assignment.
- When posting your stories, please let us know for whom it is. Also, put the guidelines of your assignments (the three wants, the three don't wants and the preferred season) at the end of your story.
- You are required to write at least 750 words. (That's about 1-2 pages, I think.) There is no upper limit, though.

This is everything I can think of right now, but I might update this post if something else turns up.
