So, officially, I'd say he is nothing to the Air Force, no rank. Just someone posing as an officer. They do refer to him as an "airman" when looking at that picture.
In TGGGOH, there is not even a mention of Air Force, ranks, etc. Probably because everyone already knows Trask is just a nut after Superman.
