I'm hoping someone can help me... I'm trying to recall the name of a fic I read several years ago. I think the title may be a variation of "When the World Finds Out."
In the story Lois and Clark are at a Perry's retirement party, but bad guys show up and everyone is confined to the underground area the party took place in. I think it was an old underground bunker of Lex's. At some point it's revealed that there's kryptonite paint on the walls of a hallway (I think it's a hallway)...
The bad guys insist on Superman showing up or they'll start killing hostages... Clark (a hostage) gives up his identity to prevent this from happening. I remember that Lois yelled, "Help! Superman!" to support Clark while he went into his whirlwind to change into the suit.
