Our old house was 960 sq ft [3b/1ba] and about 550-600/mo depending on insurance/taxes at the time.
Our current house is 2500 sq ft, 4b, 3 bath, 3 living areas on half an acre for about 1100.
But we're in the Midwest where things tend to be cheaper.
Clark's apartment on Clinton - in 1994 was 950, until the guy dropped it to 900 iirc. Lois' was probably in a better area of town so more expensive there and Clark's was probably nicer once he got done with it than it had ever been before he got there. Not sure how many square feet it was. I've never been able to get a good handle on the layout of Lois' apartment to guess on that one, but say 1200 [to make it 'more than twice'] sounds really high. Of course, I also thought Clark's bathroom was under the loft/area with the red stairs until recently so... And I'm still not sure where his closets are - the one with the tie rack, where Perry hides in the Rival, etc.
